Plogging Event

The Sustainable Development Goal number 17 is "Partnership for the Goals".

Today we combined forces with a high school that is situated in the same neighborhood with us and went plogging together.

I was fun and the neighborhood is much tidier now.

We encourage everybody to invite your neighbors to do something for the nature together!

Here we go again!

It's been a long time since the last post. As we all know, all the international activity was on pause during the pandemic and there was not so much to report on this site either. Some activities we do have had anyway, and now it seems that the world is opening up again and we get back on Erasmus+ business as well.

Finnish Red Cross organizes the Hunger Day every year to collect money for people in need and those who have faced some kind of catastrophe.

Our students were volunteering for the campaign both this year and year before. In Oulu there's also a competition between the volunteering teams, and 2020 our team wan by collecting the biggest amount of money! Congratulations to us!

Plogging Event

Every now and then we organize a plogging day on the streets and waterfronts near our school. Did you know that plogging is a Swedish word that combines words jogga (to jog) and plocka (to pick)? So, you basically run and collect all the litter you see - and both your body and the nature enjoy!

Every year we find more and more syringes in the bushes. That's very sad and we have to be very careful when picking them up. But it's better that we find them and not the kids or dogs in the neighborhood, right?

The Christmas Tree Collection

We participated a charity collection Joulupuu, the Christmas tree. Our students and staff bought Christmas presents to the children who live in less fortunated families. They took the presents to the school and we took them to the local collection center. We collected two luggages full of presents. It was a lovely spirit of giving and helping. <3
